Week 6: Chicken Fajitas, Veggie Lasagne Soup + 3 More Budget Dinners
Happy Friday! How good does it feel to walk into the supermarket, spend under $85, and know you've got dinner sorted for 2 to 3 people, five nights of the week? There's nothing better than knowing you not only saved some pennies at the till, but you didn't have to think about what you're eating this week either. That's what the Savvy Suppers Club is here for, taking the brain power out of weeknight dinners. These ones are simple, easy and fuss-free, but as always, they taste absolutely banging.

We kick off with a proper crowd pleaser, because let's face it, who doesn't love a chicken Caesar salad? And I've made it a little bit easier. Very unlike me, as often making things from scratch is a great way to not only eat well, but also get a little more bang for your buck, but a bag of pre-made Caesar mix is sometimes just what a Monday night needs!
With the weather warming up, this week is a mix of fresh, salad-y dinners and some absolute crowd favourite classics. We all love a lasagne, but it takes far too long when you're making it in a tray, so I've turned it into a simple soup. A dollop of cream cheese or sour cream on top at the end is SO good. And fajitas were always a classic in my house growing up, and even as an adult they're still an absolute winner.
Del's Pick of the Week

This Crunchy Chicken Caesar Salad certainly doesn't feel like budget food! The trick is slicing one chicken breast into three thin pieces before you crumb them. You get so much more out of it, and you really don't need a lot of chicken to make this Monday night dinner absolutely banging. The full recipe and shopping list are in this week's plan for members.
Tip of the week
Buy your veg loose where you can. When a recipe needs one red onion or six mushrooms, grab exactly that, and you're only paying for what you'll actually use.
Don't get me wrong, though, for the things I use all the time, like onions and garlic, I'll often grab the bag because it works out cheaper per kilo. Just always keep an eye on the unit price, because as we all know, a special isn't always a special!
