What You Get When You Join The Savvy Suppers Club
Every Friday, a full week of dinners lands in your inbox. Here's exactly what's inside.
Five dinners, every week
Not five recipes thrown together, a week that's actually been designed. Dinner for two to three people with leftovers built in. The leftovers aren't an accident either; lunch the next day is part of the plan. Helping even more with the food bill!
One shop, under $85
I do this shop myself, every week, at my own supermarket, with my own money. That's how I know the number is real. I do the planning, you do one shop with the list, and dinner's sorted for the week. You get the full shopping list, written in the order you'd actually walk around the store, so you're not doubling back past the bakery three times. My shop's at my local New World, so depending on where you live and shop, yours could come in even cheaper.
Ingredients that cross over
This is the bit that keeps the cost down. One chicken might do two dinners. A bunch of coriander does three. Anything left at the end of the week rolls into the next one, so you're not tipping out half a bag of something every Sunday.
Recipes you can read or print
Every dish is written out so you can just read it off your phone while you cook. There's also a downloadable PDF each week with the shopping list and all five recipe cards in one place, for anyone who'd rather print it and stick it on the fridge.
Home cooking
Most dinners take around 35 minutes, some as quick as 20, a couple closer to an hour. It's proper cooking from scratch, and making your own sauces and dressings is part of how the bill stays low.
Seasonal, always
Whatever's in season here in New Zealand is what we cook with. It's cheaper, and it tastes better.
Plus the extras
- A budget tip every week, either money saved or waste avoided
- A pantry staples reminder, so you always know what's worth keeping on hand
- Swaps for dishes, in case you want a different meat or veg!
From the day you join
The moment you join, your 3 Dinners for $50 starter pack lands in your inbox, so you can get cooking before your first Friday. You also get access to all the previous weeks' meal plans, so you can go back to a favourite anytime.
Who's doing the planning
I've spent 20 years as a chef, including in Michelin-starred kitchens, and now I cook on a budget like everyone else in my kitchen at home.
A few things worth noting
It isn't a diet plan. Meals aren't guaranteed gluten-free or dairy-free, though plenty can be made vegetarian with a swap. And it isn't cutting corners. Every night is a proper plate of food, because cheap and miserable is not the same thing as savvy.
