Easy No-Churn Ice Cream

Creamy, rich, and endlessly adaptable, this simple ice cream recipe requires no churn, no fancy machines, and just two ingredients. The best part? You can flavour it however you like, from peanut butter and crushed biscuits to swirls of fruit or caramel.

Serves: 8–10
Prep time: 10 minutes
Freeze time: 6–8 hours
Total time: 8 hours 10 minutes
Special Equipment: Electric whisk or hand mixer

Let’s learn how to make it.

This no-churn ice cream is as easy as it gets, just whip cream, fold in condensed milk, and freeze. The base is silky and scoopable, with a rich texture that rivals any store-bought ice cream. Once you’ve mastered the base, you can customise it endlessly with your favourite flavours.

Ingredients

500ml double cream (or thickened cream)
1 x 395g can condensed milk

Optional mix-ins:
– 2 tbsp peanut butter
– Crushed biscuits or cookies
– Frozen or fresh fruit
– Chocolate chips or caramel swirls

Method

  • Whip the cream:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk the cream until it forms soft peaks — it should be thick but still smooth.
  • Add the condensed milk:
Pour in the condensed milk and whisk again briefly to combine.
  • Customise it:
Stir through your chosen mix-ins — peanut butter, fruit, crushed biscuits, or anything you love.
  • Freeze:
Transfer the mixture into a freezer-safe container and freeze for 6–8 hours or overnight until set.
  • Serve:
Scoop straight from the freezer and enjoy your homemade ice cream exactly how you like it.

Chef’s Tip

Split the base into smaller tubs before freezing and flavour each one differently, that way, you’ll have a mini ice cream parlour ready to go at home!

Enjoy
